How can our services be beneficial to you
We are a Registered Dietitian Service that provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT); an essential component of a comprehensive health care program which will improve your health and well-being. If you have Diabetes, MNT can be significantly beneficial. Diabetes MNT,when provided by a Registered Dietitian results in reductions in A1C and sustained improvements over time. Patients who receive MNT also experience reduced risk of comorbidities, improvements in lipid profiles and weight management, as well as a decreased need for prescription drug use and hospitalization.
What makes us different
At KontosNutrition we provide our patients with a Nutrition Assessment, determine the Nutrition Diagnosis and implement a Nutrition and Physical Activity Intervention. We establish patient goals and determine expected outcomes. We identify the obstacles that prevent you from changing your behavior, implement strategies to overcome them so that you can achieve your goal. Through a series of follow-up visits we monitor our patient’s progress so that we can measure and evaluate outcomes. We emphasize physical activity as we believe that it is equally as important as is healthy eating. Therefore, combining healthy eating with physical activity is the best approach to improving and maintaining good health.
How to Schedule an appointment
What to expect from your initial nutrition consultation
The initial consultation is an hour long session where we will discuss your medical and diet history, referral diagnosis, medication and recent lab work. We will also discuss your food and physical activity records, and assess life-style and barriers to self-care. Finally, we will develop a plan of healthy eating and physical activity based on your nutritional needs, and implement strategies to aid in attaining and maintaining your health goals.
We are a fee-for-service private practice. Your insurance coverage is determined by your insurance company. Many plans offer out-of- network reimbursement for Medical Nutrition Therapy. At the end of your visit, you will be provided with a “superbill”, which you may submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Please call your insurance provider to verify your benefits as reimbursement varies with each company’s policy.
What form of payments do we accept
